As above, so below.
View From Above
“As above, so below.” Have you ever heard this term? I’m sure… I mean I think everyone has, but I really only learned what it means somewhat recently. It pretty much means exactly that: what is happening in the sky, or the heavens, is reflected here on Earth. From the world stage, to our personal lives… it is ACTUALLY written in the stars.
When I started learning astrology and decoding my natal chart, I felt WITNESSED in a way unlike ever before. Everything from little quirks to the aesthetics that draw me in to the way I communicate all started making so much more sense. And not only did things start making more sense, but they made sense in this magickal, poetic way that made me feel like I’m here on this Earth for a reason. Like I’m 100% supposed to be the way I am because I am gifted in a lot of ways… and that I’m here to learn a lot as well.
I talk about astrology to anyone who will listen. It is what helps me make sense of the world around me and the world within me. I fully believe we should be learning Astro 101 in pre-K just like we do the ABC’s… honestly, it’s so much more useful for me than any other subject I’ve ever studied. I use it daily to both unravel and connect with myself and the people in my life.
Astrology is such a powerful compass on the journey of self-discovery. As a photographer, I love using it to get to know the soul in front of my camera. I look at a few key placements to help us decide on what to wear, on the music we will vibe to, the posing I will use, and just the overall energy we are trying to capture. Usually when I describe someone’s natal astro to them they will have “a-ha!” moments. Not that I’m telling them anything they didn’t already know about themselves, but that I can put in to words or describe a deeply rooted feeling, need, or energy that they exude or need to express but don’t know how. It should be noted that I am NOT an astrologer. I am simply a witch with an astrological hyper-focus. I’m learning about these energies and how they dance with each other to create the beautiful souls around me.
As for the pictures… think of them as a sacred time capsule. A reflection of the sky at the time of your birth. They should be printed and hung on your walls…displayed like the works of art that we are. Framed and placed on the altar of YOU. A reminder of who the fuq you are and the reasons you are here.
